St. Luke the Evangelist reveals that the disciples of Jesus Christ "devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers" (Acts of the Apostles 2:42). Commissioned in Christ is an invitation to join the Church in that same devotion as a disciple of Jesus Christ living a full sacramental life in the Catholic Church.

For many, developing this devotion is a matter of ongoing conversion and deepening of their spiritual life. For others this involves specific ritual and sacramental milestones to bring them into full communion with the Catholic Church.
