Baptism

Baptism is the first and basic sacrament of Christian initiation.  It is usually conferred by immersion and by pouring water three times on the recipient's head, while reciting the baptismal formula: "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). The sacrament frees the recipient from original and all personal sins, and from the punishment due to them. In Baptism the person shares in the Trinitarian life of God as part of a community of faith. Baptism is the foundation of communion between all Christians.

  • In accord with the promulgation of the new Rite for the Baptism of Infants, St Luke Parish has established a program for parents.

  • Our Parish program provides parents an opportunity for a better understanding of their own faith, traditions and practices. This will lead to a faith filled journey to the kingdom of God for both parent and child.  Baptism classes are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. 

  • In accord with the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, St Luke Parish establishes the following policies: Baptisms are held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month following the 11:00 a.m. Mass.

Bautizos

Para poder agendar un Bautismo es necesario llenar las formas adecuadas por los padres del niño(a) y los padrinos, y haber asistido a una plática bautismal.

Los Bautismos se celebran usualmente los domingos al final de la Misa de mediodía. Hay posibilidad de agendar en sábado, siempre y cuando haya un sacerdote disponible.

Si los padrinos son pareja es requerido que estén casados por la Iglesia católica. Los padrinos deberán presentar el certificado de Matrimonio de la Iglesia. No se les permitirá que sean padrinos

a las parejas que viven en unión libre. Puede haber un solo padrino o madrina, siempre y cuando la persona sea mayor de 16 años, tenga ya su Confirmación y no tenga nada que le impida
