What is the Sacrament of Reconciliation?
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing. Sin breaks our relationship with God and damages our unity with others. To be restored, we must seek forgiveness from God and be reconciled with His Church. Catholics are required to go to Confession a minimum of once per year.

PREPARATION Program
The parish preparation program for Reconciliation consists of these components:

Since parental involvement in catechesis is essential in the on-going formation of the child, a Reconciliation Prep Night is required for the parent/guardian and the child receiving the sacrament.

The child must attend PSR/Catholic School regularly and actively participate in a two-year preparation period.

Reconciliation preparation begins in grade one and the immediate preparation in grade two.
Criteria for Readiness
The candidate:
1. Can distinguish accident, inappropriate behavior, and sin according to the child’s age.
2. Must acknowledge sin.
3. Expresses sorrow for sin.
