St. Michael the Archangel

I chose St. Michael the Archangel as my

confirmation name for several reasons. First of

all, St. Michael is very brave. I find it inspiring

that on multiple occasions he engaged in celestial

battles with the devil and his demons. St. Michael is

known as the Leader of the Heavenly Army because

he led God’s armies against Satan. I am grateful that

St. Michael and his army cast Satan and his demons

out of heaven. Because of them, God’s goodness

triumphed over Satan’s evil.

Another reason that I chose St. Michael is because

he is a fierce defender of Christians. He is considered

the Defender and Guardian of the Church because he

protects us from wickedness, temptation, and evil.

One more reason I chose St. Michael is because he

is the patron saint of soldiers, police officers, and

paramedics. I find it inspiring that he is in heaven

protecting the people who protect all of us and

help keep us safe on Earth. I am grateful for his

protection.

St. Michael did not live on Earth as a human being

with a physical body. God created him before

Earth was even formed. God created St. Michael as

very powerful and anointed him with supernatural

strength and righteousness. He needed this power

and strength so that he could defeat the evil of

Satan and protect heaven. His brave and righteous

actions in heaven are the reasons he is a saint, not a

life led on Earth.

St. Michael was a strong leader who faced many

challenges in his battles with evil. Despite these

challenges, he showed great loyalty and devotion

to God by helping to protect heaven and the angels

from evil.

St. Michael’s strength, bravery, loyalty, and

goodness are all characteristics that I want to

develop. He inspires me to be better. St. Michael is

like a heavenly superhero. The more I learn about

him, the more I want to be a better person and a

more loyal follower of God. I hope that, through

Confirmation and the gift of the Holy Spirit, I can be

more like St. Michael.
